War of The arrows / 최종병기 활

“War of the Arrows” focuses on an archer, played by Park Hae-il, who sets out to rescue his sister during the Manchu invasion of Korea.



During the Second Manchu invasion of Korea in 1636, a village is attacked by Manchurian soldiers. They kidnap Ja-In on her wedding day with her childhood sweetheart Seo-Goon. Her brother Nam-Yi, a skilled archer and hunter, returns to the village and learns his sister was kidnapped into slavery. Nam-Yi has a tragic past; as children he and Ja-In witnessed their father being betrayed and executed by King Injo and then they were raised by Seo-Goon's father. Ja-In was sold to Prince Dorgon whose ally, Jyusthina, is his best archer, troop leader and commands an elite force of warriors. As Nam-Yi seeks to rescue his sister he clashes with Jyusthina and his troops.

It’s hard not to love Asian cinema. It delivers a style and an intensity not often in found in other films. If you like action movies with a historical flair, then "War of the Arrows" is definitely for you. Once it starts, it just keeps on going and keeps you on edge for the ride. And what’s surprising is that the movie still allows for character exposition; something South-Korean cinema is revered for and should be proud of (in case they aren’t).

“War of The Arrows” has a solid story, part romantic, part family story and part historical action epic all underscored by a sweeping vision that is somehow both grand and grubby. Enough so, where you will be entertaining and not feel like you wasted your coin. 

It really all came down to the man’s strength being his promise and his arrow. He was strong but he wasn’t invincible and he showed his fear as much as his courage. Also, the female lead wasn’t left as just a damsel in distress. Yes, she was in trouble, but she defended herself and held her own to the best of her abilities, which was quite a refreshing thing to see.

Yesterday I received my new guitar(yeeeyy!) and today I was playing and in the end I made up with a short song about K-pop academy:)))) Nice and easy:D Hope you`ll like it!

How did you first discover K-Pop?		3 Years ago my friend showed me Korean movie “My little Bride (어린 신부)” and after watching it a become addicted to Korean movies, dramas and especially music. First Korean song that I heard and loved was “Because I`m a Girl” by K.I.S.S. I`ve never heard such a touching and beautiful songs before, It was something new for me. In a short time I already knew all famous bands and songs in K-Pop. My favourites are 2NE1, Big Bang, CNBlue, B2st. Me and my band cover one of the Super Junior songs “It`s You” for MBC Star audition, we didn`t win but attracted many people who liked it and we also have been shown at Korean TV programJ
If you are a member of K-Pop fan club, please give details of your recent contributions to the group.		Unfortunately, I`m not a member of K-pop fan club, but I would love to join.
What is your plan for the furure?		At this moment I`m studying at university and my subject is Politics and International Relations. I`m studying it not because I like it, but because my parents want me to get a good degree. My dream and life is all in music, i`m musician and I want music to be my career, my hobby, my everything. And because K-pop is my favorite genre I am thinking to go to Korea to study at Korean National University of Art in a Department of Composition. Sounds a little bit crazy but That is my big and deliberate plan for the future and I`m working hard to be able to make it come true.
If you had the opportunity to go to Korea, what is the first thing you would like to do?		I think it would be Hongdea (Hong-ik University). My Korean friends told me that this area is the most hottest spot in Korea. There are so many clubs, pubs and etc.. it`s a place where you can meet many of young fashionable people.
Why do you want to be part of this programme?		I love Korean people, I love Korean music, food, movies, language, but I still can`t say that I know what It is - Korean culture. I want to learn more about it. It is very interesting how did K-pop developed, where did I t come from. Also it would be nice to know about Korean ethics and culture basics, so I could feel myself a little bit more confident, when I go to Korea. I want to be part of this programme because It`s a very good opportunity to learn about something that I really like and I`m interested in.
Is there anything in particular you want to learn about Korean Culture?		The most important thing that I want to learn about is K-pop, it`s history and how does k-pop industry works, how did it become so famous and global. It`s very interesting, who writes these amazing songs for K-pop artists and who are K-pop artists, where the big stars came from and how did they become K-pop celebrities. Also I`m curious what is a relationship between modern K-pop music and Korean culture in particular.

Yeay it's Kpop time! I love Kpop. Let's face it, who doesn't?! But wait a minute. What exactly is Kpop anyway?

• K-pop is an abbreviation for Korean popular music, specifically South Korean (there is practically no popular music industry in North Korea). Many of the Korean pop stars and pop groups are well known in Asia and some parts of Europe. K-pop often emulates American pop music, and usually features young, sexy performers.
